Polyurethane rigid foam insulation composite panel is a composite structural panel with polyurethane rigid foam as the core material and covered on both sides with metal or non-metal panels (such as color steel plates, aluminum foil, cement fiber boards, etc.). It is widely used in building exterior walls, cold storage, industrial equipment and pipeline insulation and other fields. Its core features are as follows:
1. Excellent thermal insulation performance
Low thermal conductivity: The thermal conductivity of polyurethane rigid foam is as low as 0.022-0.028 W/(m·K), which is much lower than traditional insulation materials (such as polystyrene board, rock wool), which can effectively reduce heat transfer and reduce energy consumption.
Closed-cell structure: The interior of the polyurethane rigid foam is a honeycomb structure with a high closed-cell rate (≥95%). The air is locked in the pores, further blocking heat conduction, and the thermal insulation effect is long-lasting and stable.
Full-cycle energy saving: During the whole life cycle of the building (design life is more than 50 years), its thermal insulation performance degradation rate is less than 5%, and the long-term energy saving effect is significant.
2. High strength and lightweight
High compressive strength: Polyurethane rigid foam with a density of 35-50kg/m³ has a compressive strength of up to 150-300kPa, which can withstand construction loads and long-term use pressure and is not easily deformed.
Lightweight material: The overall density of the board is low (about 40kg/m³), which is only 1/8 of the concrete board. It reduces the weight of the building, reduces the structural load, and facilitates transportation and installation.
Strong impact resistance: Composite panels (such as color steel panels) are combined with hard foam core materials to form a rigid structure that can resist external impacts and reduce damage during transportation and installation.
3. Fire protection and safety performance
High flame retardant level: By adding flame retardants, polyurethane rigid foam can reach B1 level (flammable) or B2 level (combustible). It has no melting droplets and low smoke density when burning, and complies with building fire protection regulations.
Fireproof structure optimization: Some products use double-sided metal panels (such as galvanized steel panels) to wrap hard foam to form a 'fireproof sandwich' structure, which effectively delays the spread of fire and improves overall fire safety.
High temperature resistance: short-term temperature resistance can reach 150℃, long-term use temperature range is -50℃ to +80℃, adaptable to extreme climate conditions.
4. Moisture-proof and corrosion-resistant
Closed-cell moisture-proof: The high closed-cell ratio structure prevents water vapor from penetrating, and the water absorption rate is extremely low (≤3%), preventing the degradation of thermal insulation performance or material decay due to water absorption.
Resistant to chemical corrosion: Polyurethane rigid foam has stable chemical properties and is resistant to corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, and salts, and is suitable for harsh environments such as chemical industry and oceans.
Anti-mildew and anti-bacterial: Anti-bacterial agents can be added to the surface to inhibit the growth of mold and keep it clean and hygienic for a long time.
5. Convenient construction and environmental protection
Modular design: Standard size plates (such as 1200mm×600mm) can be spliced quickly, reducing on-site cutting and shortening the construction cycle.
Various installation methods: supports dry hanging, bonding, mechanical fixing and other installation methods, adapting to different base surfaces (such as concrete, steel structure, wooden structure).
Environmentally friendly materials: Polyurethane rigid foam does not contain CFC, HCFC and other ozone-destroying substances. The production process is low-carbon and environmentally friendly, and meets green building standards.
Recyclability: Some products use recyclable panels (such as aluminum foil), which can be recycled through professional processing after disposal.
6. Durability and low maintenance costs
Strong aging resistance: Polyurethane hard foam has a stable molecular structure, is not easily decomposed under ultraviolet irradiation, and has a service life of more than 25 years.
Simple maintenance: Surface panels (such as color steel plates) are highly weather-resistant and only require regular cleaning to maintain their appearance, without the need for frequent repairs or replacements.
Low overall cost: Although the initial investment is slightly higher than traditional insulation materials, the long-term energy saving effect is significant and the whole life cycle cost is lower.
Application scenario examples
Building exterior wall insulation: As the core layer of the exterior wall insulation system (EIFS), it improves building energy efficiency and meets energy conservation standards.
Cold storage insulation: used for cold storage walls, roofs and floors to maintain a low temperature environment and reduce cooling loss.
Industrial pipeline insulation: Wrap the outer wall of the pipeline to prevent heat loss and improve energy efficiency.
Roof insulation: As a roof insulation layer, it reduces indoor temperature fluctuations and improves living comfort.
