Polyurethane rigid foam thermal insulation and decorative integrated panels (referred to as 'integrated panels') combine thermal insulation performance with decorative functions and are widely used in building exterior wall insulation and decoration projects. In order to ensure its stable performance and service life, please pay attention to the following matters when storing:
1. Environmental condition control
temperature range
Suitable temperature: 5℃~35℃, avoid extreme high or low temperatures.
High temperatures (>40°C) may cause hard polyurethane foam to soften, deform, and even release harmful gases.
Low temperature (<0°C) may embrittle the material and increase the risk of damage during handling.
Winter storage: If it needs to be stored in a low-temperature environment for a short period of time, it needs to be covered with insulation materials to avoid direct contact with the ground and freezing.
Humidity control
Relative humidity: ≤60%, to prevent the board from absorbing moisture.
After polyurethane hard foam absorbs moisture, its thermal insulation performance decreases, and the decorative surface layer may bubble and fall off.
Long-term high humidity environment can easily breed mold and affect the life of materials.
Moisture-proof measures:
Store in a dry and ventilated room, with a moisture-proof film (such as plastic sheet or wooden pallet) on the floor.
When stacking the boards, cover them with tarpaulin, but leave a ventilation gap to avoid moisture.
Ventilation requirements
Maintain air circulation to avoid moisture buildup in confined spaces.
Keep away from chemicals, paints and other volatile substances to prevent corrosion of the decorative surface.
2. Stacking and handling specifications
Stacking method
Stack flat:
The number of layers should not exceed 5, and each layer should be separated by wooden strips or hard pads to prevent deformation of the board.
The stacking height should be less than or equal to 1.5 meters to avoid tipping if the center of gravity is too high.
Vertical storage:
Suitable for short-term storage, it needs to be fixed with a bracket and the tilt angle is ≤15° to prevent slipping.
Keep a gap of more than 10cm between boards to facilitate ventilation and inspection.
Moving requirements
Handle with care: avoid violent collision or throwing to prevent scratches on the decorative surface or damage to the polyurethane core material.
Use special tools: For example, when transporting with a forklift, you need to install a pallet at the bottom of the plate and adjust the width of the fork arm to match the size of the plate.
No dragging: The board needs to be lifted when moving on the ground. Dragging on the ground is prohibited to avoid scratching the surface.
3. Protective measures
surface protection
Cover with protective film: The surface of the board is usually covered with a protective film when it leaves the factory. It must be kept intact during storage to avoid aging caused by direct sunlight.
Anti-scratch treatment: If the protective film is damaged, it must be covered with plastic film or cardboard in time to prevent the decorative surface from contacting hard objects.
Anti-pollution measures
Keep away from the construction site to avoid dust, oil, cement and other impurities from adhering.
If the surface is stained with stains, use neutral detergent and soft cloth to wipe it. Do not use strong acids, alkalis or steel wool.
Fire safety
Polyurethane rigid foam is a flammable material. The storage area must be kept away from fire and heat sources and equipped with fire extinguishing equipment.
Smoking or working with open flames is prohibited in storage areas.
4. Regular inspection and maintenance
Appearance inspection
Check the board monthly for deformation, cracking, peeling off of the decorative surface, etc.
Focus on checking edges and corners, as these areas are prone to damage due to impact or moisture.
Environmental monitoring
Use a temperature and humidity meter to monitor the storage environment to ensure compliance with requirements.
In rainy season or humid weather, the frequency of inspections needs to be increased, and dehumidification equipment must be turned on if necessary.
records management
Establish a storage ledger to record storage time, batch, storage location and inspection status.
Label the boards that have been stored for a long time and give priority to products that are close to their shelf life.
5. Special scene processing
Long-term storage (>6 months)
Turn over the panels regularly (once every 3 months) to avoid deformation caused by long-term pressure.
Clean and maintain the decorative surface, such as applying protective agent (compatible products need to be selected according to the material).
Save in transit
The transport vehicle must be flat and dry, and the space between the board and the carriage wall must be filled with soft material to prevent shaking.
Transportation in rainy days must be completely covered with tarpaulin and ensure smooth drainage.
6. Taboo behaviors
Avoid direct exposure to sunlight: UV rays will accelerate the aging of the decorative surface, causing discoloration or cracking.
It is forbidden to mix it with sharp objects: such as metal components, sand and gravel, etc. to prevent scratching the surface.
It is forbidden to disassemble the packaging at will: if you need to use it partially, the remaining plates need to be resealed to prevent moisture.
